Watch video here: Emilia's Coats Transformation

Emelia's project consisted of two different kinds of luxurious fur, one being a beautiful mink coat and the other a stunning Beaver coat. Both of these exquisite furs were in excellent condition, making them perfect candidates for transformation. The customer specifically requested to retain her own lining for sentimental reasons. The Beaver coat featured a very nice accent at the bottom of the lining, which we skillfully incorporated into the final backing of the piece. The mink coat’s final measurement was an impressive 47 by 51 inches, while the Beaver coat measured a generous 49 by 62 inches. This project truly represents such a lovely and meaningful way to preserve one's cherished memories.

Sophie's Mother-In-Law's Fur Transformation

Sophie’s Fur project proved to be quite a challenging and intricate endeavor. The entire project was crafted from two distinct fur items: one was a beautiful short mink coat, while the other was an elegant mink shawl. The primary difficulty with this particular project stemmed from the coat, which had numerous areas displaying visible signs of dry rot. When dry rot is present, it renders the affected fur unusable, meaning that if I attempted to incorporate it into the project, it would very likely fall apart during the process. To ensure the quality of the final product, I carefully assessed the good areas of fur and used cold tape to provide necessary support to all seams, along with applying cold cloth in the areas that were under stress. The total fur material measured an impressive 44 by 44 inches square. I crafted an inner border that went in one direction and complemented it with a wider outer border that extended in the opposite direction. Despite the challenges, I truly loved working on this intricate fur project.

Velvet's Mink Coat & Cape Transformed into a Throw, 2 Pillows, Teddy Bear & Bunny

Watch the video here: Velvet's Minks Transformations

What an absolutely amazing project this turned out to be! I crafted one large throw, along with two beautifully soft white mink pillows, a charming brown teddy bear, and an adorable white bunny. The throw was in excellent condition, which made it a pure joy to work with. For the teddy bear, I creatively repurposed the lining of a brown coat to fashion its ears, paws, and even a cute little tie. The luxurious white mink cape was transformed into two delightful 14 by 14 pillows and one cuddly bunny. The same soft lining was also utilized in the bunny's ears and paws, as well as its tie, adding a lovely touch. To complete the look of both stuffed animals, I used some elegant buttons from the cape, enhancing their overall charm.

Chrissy's Mink Coat Transformed into a Throw

I truly loved the unique texture of this fur! The mink had a somewhat musty odor and definitely needed some deodorizer to freshen it up. Additionally, I noticed there was a very large, noticeable repair to the coat. The repair was done using a denim-like fabric, which stood out quite a bit. It appeared as if they had carefully hand-sewn it and then machine-sewed over it for extra durability. I found it interesting enough to let that particular part of the video run in real time, allowing me to appreciate the details more fully.

Final Measurement: 47 by 57

Eric generously sent me three beautiful furs to work with. The collection included one elegantly soft white rabbit coat, one luxurious gray full-length mink coat, and one exquisite brown mink shawl. He expressed a desire for a large throw to enhance his living space. After some consideration, we decided on a classic checkerboard pattern, incorporating the rich brown mink as a stunning border. The hood of the gray mink was quite substantial, allowing us to utilize the leftover fur to create two matching pillows, each measuring 18 by 18 inches. The final measurements of the throw came to 54 by 65 inches, making it a perfect statement piece.
