Memory Bear made from three T-Shirts
Customer wanted all the words that were printed on the gray shirt to be part of the bear. The other two shirts where black and dark blue. I forgot to take the before photos (ugh).
It was a challenge as bear is Tiny.
The shirt read:
“World’s Greatest Farter Father”
The How: I used Pellon 911FF to stabilize the T-Shirt material. I used Wonder Under on the gray shirt.
I carefully cut out the all the letters except World’s. I wanted to keep that whole. I ironed the letters to the pattern pieces. Used monofilament to tack the letters onto the bear as well. The customer wanted the FARTER as the focal point. Due to the size of the bear, that was almost impossible. I had to separate the word.
Here is how I divided it up.
World’s- Tie
Greatest – Two letter on each arm and leg to spell out greatest.
Farter FART on the back & ER on the front
Father - Belly/Butt area
It was a fun project.
My customer wanted a T-Shirt Quilt and two Teddy Bears made from their father’s clothing. See the video here: T-Shirt Quilt & 2 Teddy Bears Two panels include his college fraternity! They wanted a simple design, not too big, and they did not want me to hide the stains on the shirts. “That was just Dad”. Two Teddies where also made from the left-over shirts. One has this inscription:
Colton,
I may have never Held you in my arms
But I will always love you.
Love, Grandpa Mark.
My customer had a beautiful Fox Jacket that she bought years ago. Unwilling to part with it, she decided to turn it into a beautiful Throw. You can watch the progress here: Fox Jacket to Beautiful Throw
Size: 45 by 58
I was contacted by my client, who was looking to transform her Grandmother's Mink Fur into a Lap/Throw Blanket. The original lining was stunning and was incorporated into the project. I used both the lining and new black silk lining. Custom quilting was used to attach lining material and batting. Both fur layer and backing were then sandwiched together to complete the throw. Original tags and labels were sewn onto the backing. A lovely heirloom to give joy to the family for years to come.

Feathered Star Quilt by Judy Niemeyer is a discontinued pattern. The quilt size: Queen Size Quilt measuring 96 by 96. I have been working on and off this project for over 10 years. There are hundreds of pieces, ranging from tiny to large. I finally competed it!! This video is a very simple overview of the paper piecing process.
This Memory Pillow was made with the deceased Grandfather’s shirt. Made a Heart that goes into the back pocket. You can order one here: Memory Pillow
I was asked to make a soccer quilt incorporating a Texas Soccer Team. The Austin FC’s. I hope they like it!
Just completed this beautiful Custom Princess Quilt. Isn’t she lovely!
I was asked to use the lining of a coat to make two fur pillows. The lining was made of New Zealand Opossum. They wanted to use both the fur and the jacket lining. A very sharp Exacto knife was used the cut the fur. As you can see the manufacturer used very small left over pieces to make the inside lining of the coat. Enjoy the process.
Lovely little quilt measures 50 by 54 inches. Center panel custom quilted. Added tie-dyed batik fabric as the accent.
While one of my customers was browsing the internet for a baby gift, she saw this quilt pattern. She contacted be about making her one. I purchased the pattern from Nursery Magic Quilts. The original design was square. My customer wanted a larger more rectangular quilt. The finished quilt measures. 50 by 68. The top and bottom border are quilted with cowboy hats, stars, boots and horse shoes. The side border is embroidered with running horses. I added a thought bubble to the center block. He is dreaming about ridding a horse. Custom lettering for the name in the inner border. Close-ups of the quilt can be seen in the video below. Enjoy!
Working on these cuties today!
Today I finished a very important project. I hope this quilt, pillow and bear will bring comfort to the family.
Memory Pillow made with the Grandfather’s shirt. Such a lovely gift. I have made this pillow once before in pink. Added the heart and used the pocket to store it!
